Magic tree house: Dinosaurs before dark

Title: Dinosaurs before dark
Author:Mary Pope Osborne (***)

Jack and Annie one day find a tree house near their house. Annie always wants to discover everything. So she goes inside and realises that it is a library. Jack loves books therefore he climbs up too. They find different books each time. Jack or Annie just have to point at the picture and say: I wish I could be there!
The tree house starts turning and they are there.

In this book they go to the dinosaurs and try to figure out how to get back home. They must run away from dangerous dinosaurs.

The best part was when Jack forgot his pack with the book about dinosaurs and his note book inside it. He ran back for it. When he found and took it a tyrannosaurus Rex blocked his way to the tree house. Annie was waiting for him in the tree house and was scared that the tyrannosaurus would get Jack and eat him. The pteranodon, they have discovered before, comes to the tree house. Annie tells the pteranodon to take Jack to her. The pteranodon did what Annie told him to do. Jack was suddenly flying on the pteranodon and gets to the tree house suavely.

The Number Devil

Title: The Number Devil
Author: Hans Magnus Enzensberger (****)
Robert, a twelve-year-old boy, hates math.
He used to have bad dreams about sliding down an endless slide and being swallowed by a fish.
But all the sudden the number devil appears in his dreams. The number devil explains him how useful and fascinating math can be.
He always appears in other places like the grass, the forest, the beach, the cave, the school or the desert.
The book is actually about important things in math, that you learn when you are twelve-years-old.
The best part was when the number devil tried to make Robert understand the hopping numbers by using rabbit.
I like the book, because it has many beautiful and colorful pictures, that made me understand the book better.

The Pole-seekers

This book is an animal adventure story, that takes place in the ice lands of Antarctica.
The main character is young Hackle, who is a ship's rat chosen to embark on a voyage to the South Pole where no rat has been before. It's Hackle who tells the story.
When they first arrive at the South Pole, the rats are amazed at the huge amounts of ice and snow. Their fur quickly grows longer and thicker as they get used to the conditions. When Hackle is chosen, along with his friend Eddie, to accompany their 'I-want-to-get-to-the-Pole-first-crazy' Commander, he has no idea of the perils they all face.

My favorite part of this book is when Hackle and his gang build a house out of ice. They planed to live there, but on the end they had to go back home. Every rat has its own room in there. They
always search for food and try to imagine to be in Antarctica the whole life.

The book is written by Meredith Hooper.
It's a (***) book for me.

Die Jagd nach dem tollsten Fahrrad der Welt

Author: Thomas Brezina (*****)
Language: German

Young schoolmates Karo a girl and Klaro a boy bought an old bicycle. They've surprisingly found the hidden instructions in the bike how to change it into a clever bike acting like an intelligent robot doing 111 tricks. They named it Tom Turbo.

Karo and Klaro excitedly rebuilt the bike and went out to a trial ride. On their way they met a limousine. There was a man inside that was laughing about the bike, because it looked funny to him. Tom Turbo got mad and threw Ice-creams, toasts and eggs on the man. Then they went home. The next morning something was ringing in a box. It were the bell straps that Karo and Klaro have gotten. It was Tom Turbo who called them. Karo and Klaro put the bell straps on and followed the arrows on the strap that had stopped to blink on the half of their way and showed up a building instead. The kids did not know what it was. So they went home and looked for the building on the map. They found it and went there as fast as possible. The kids saw two men carrying Tom Turbo out of the building into a car trunk. Karo and Klaro opened the trunk and saw Tom Turbo. They went in and got stuck inside. It was dark. The car started moving. So Karo and Klaro felt all over the bike to switch on Tom seeking help. The car stopped and the men opened the door. Tom Turbo made a stinky yellow cloud so the men could not see the kids in the car. Karo and Klaro went out immediately. Tom Turbo had told the men to open the chains that they put on him before. They did what he wanted and the bike was free now. The men wanted to have money. There was a lot of money behind a wall. Tom Turbo made a big hole inside it so the men could take the money. The police came, caught the men and put them into the jail.

Karo and Klaro went to Klaro's house. On the very end the parents have married and Karo and Klaro got brothers and sisters.
